Rotary Assisting Transitional Students (RATs)
The activity has been running for a few years.
Each year, a group of about 20 male students (Grade 9 & 10) are selected to participate for a range of reasons, usually because they do not engage well in class.
Rotarians and volunteers are mentors and join students in a range of activities proposed by the students and funded as required.
Students raise funds through running BBQs at school events and helping out at the Motor Show.
Rotary contributes funds to help meet the cost of activities.
Plan includes set building for the school production, a games pit (built over 2 years), day activities like bike rides, kayaking, golf and a 2 night camping trip (Nov 2023).
