BREAKFAST IN THE PARK 2023

With over 560 prepaid breakfasts, 47 volunteers and perfect weather, the Common, Haines Park with the backdrop of the Spirit of Tasmania entering the Mersey River, Devonport, it was not surprising that the event was so enjoyable successful.

Rotary Club of Devonport members and their army of family volunteers are sincerely thanked. So much work in such a short period of time as food supplies were ordered and collected, stored appropriately until the morning which began for most volunteers at 5.30am. The cooking and serving was managed so efficiently and the clean-up of the BBQs magnificent. Equipment was for the first time collected and delivered the day before after a pre inspection for cleaning. All this in reverse took place after the event

finished at about 9am.

Santa was a hit as he arrived in the fire truck and the face painter managed to decorate the faces of so many children. Exhale Choir sang carols and added to the Christmas theme.

Many sponsors need to be thanked and certificates of appreciation have been distributed.

  • and power costs and for overall ongoing support for this event.

  •  SeaFM and 7AD for on-air advertising, site presence on the day and for judging the pet parade

  •  Cripps master baker, for 50 loaves of bread at discount rate.

  •  Zest Café and Bakehouse for cool room storage.
